Tomorrow (Sunday, July 24th) is my 32nd birthday. It will mark a week since tragedy struck the area I grew up at the Greenwood Park Mall. I’ve been to that mall hundreds of times, and as recently as earlier this month.

My heart breaks for everyone involved and the trauma it’s caused, especially for those families that lost loved ones. It’s been heavy on my heart since the minute I heard there was an active shooter at the mall.

I was drawn to the story of Victor Gomez, who was a 30-year-old that graduated from Perry Meridian High School, ran his own business, and had three little ones. I can’t fathom the pain his family is feeling.

So for my 32nd birthday, I wanted to do something meaningful to help those affected in my hometown. What I came up with is this:

I’m going to shoot 100 free throws tomorrow (Sunday, the 24th) and ask you to pledge money for each make. For instance, if you pledge a dollar and I make 80 free throws, you’d donate $80. If you pledge 50 cents and I make 90, you’d donate $45.

Please fill out the form below to make your pledge and I’ll email you tomorrow after I’m done shooting how many I made. I’ll have a video of all of the shots, as well.

Please join me in a small gesture to help a family that’s grieving. If you’d like to donate directly without pledging, please do so! The GoFundMe we’ll be donating to is here.
